Pop Punk I Like (but won’t admit)

1) Motion City Soundtrack. I’ve been hooked on these guys since I saw them two nights in a row opening for The Weakerthans and Onelinedrawing in 2003. One of the hardest working bands I’ve ever seen, they never stop touring. I just found out they have a new album coming out in June. You can listen to one track off that and more of their catchy tunes at their PureVolume site.

2) Gratitude. Like I’ve explained before, I’ve followed Jonah Matranga’s (previously Onelinedrawing) career for a long time, and this may be his least appealing project yet, but at least he’s finally making money. Rolling Stone named Gratitude one of the 10 bands to watch in 2005 (via DoneWaiting). I automatically like anything Jonah does. Maybe you will too. Listen here.

The Gratitude CD came out this week.
