Portland band Hausu signed to Hardly Art, releasing debut LP and going on tour (dates, MP3s)

Portland youngsters Hausu (whose name might be taken from one of the most awesome cult-horror films of all time) make a manic-depressive brand of indie rock with emotions at frayed nerves, and overdriven minor chord rock-outs melding with mopey adenoidal vocals. Have you ever heard Dinosaur Jr.’s cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven“? They’re kind of like that. The band’s debut album, Total, is out June 25 and you can download a couple tracks from it above or stream them below.

The band just started a major North American tour, and will be in NYC for two shows: Cake Shop on June 19 with Palm and Gray Nurse; and Death by Audio on June 20 with Cereal Banter and Sea Cliff, Long Island’s great Turnip King. All tour dates are listed below.
