London label Diagonal Records has been celebrating its fifth anniversary with a North American tour this August, featuring rare US performances from label co-founders Powell and Jaimie as well as Russell Haswell and Not Waving, in addition to guest appearances from acts like Silent Servant, Container, DJ Stingray, Prostitutes, and Shit and Shine. The tour makes a stop in NYC for two gigs on Saturday, August 20: an early performance at MOMA PS1’s Warm Up series (tickets) followed by a late-night show at Trans-Pecos (tickets).

The tour hits Detroit tonight (8/19). All dates are listed below.

The tour follows Powell’s July announcement of his upcoming album Sport, due out in October via XL (pre-order now). The reveal saw Powell revisit his curious billboard fixation, plastering his email ([email protected]) all over London and New York, including one in Williamsburg (see above), and returning inquiries with details on the new release. This month, he dropped a single titled “Frankie,” an electro-ish track which Pitchfork’s Philip Sherburne described positively as “kinda fugly” (you can hear for yourself below). June saw the label release Container’s Vegetation EP; hear a track from that below as well.
