Power Trip announce 'Evil Beat 2' fest w/ Carcass, Vio-lence, Razor, Deafheaven, more
Crossover thrash greats Power Trip are throwing their own festival in their hometown of Dallas for the second time, with Evil Beat Vol. 2, which follows the inaugural 2018 Evil Beat festival which celebrated Power Trip’s 10th anniversary. Evil Beat 2 happens January 11 at South Side Ballroom with a kick-off show happening the day before (1/10). In addition to Power Trip, the stacked lineup includes some bands that helped pave the way for Power Trip, like Carcass, the recently reunited Vio-lence, and Razor, plus a multi-genre selection of peers/friends like Deafheaven, Sheer Mag, Drab Majesty, Prurient, Warthog, Torche, Wiccans, Red Death, True Widow, Special Interest, Mil Spec, and Dress Code. Tickets go on sale Friday (10/11) at 10 AM CST with a presale starting today (password = evilbeat).
In conjunction with the festival announcement, Power Trip also finally put their 2018 Adult Swim Single “Hornet’s Nest” on all streaming services. Listen below.
Power Trip will also be selling an exclusive “Hornet’s Nest” 7″ tour flexi at the merch tables on their upcoming tour with High On Fire, Devil Master, and Creeping Death. As mentioned, that tour hits NJ’s Asbury Lanes on November 20 (tickets) and Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Hall on November 21 & 22 (tickets).
Power Trip are also going on a Europe/UK tour in 2020 with Lamb of God and Kreator. All dates are listed below.
