Prodigy of Mobb Deep's cause of death confirmed
Prodigy of the rap duo Mobb Deep sadly passed away in June at the age of 42. At the time he had been hospitalized following complications in the sickle cell anemia he had battled since birth. TMZ reports that The Clark County Medical Examiner has now officially ruled Prodigy’s cause of death as accidental choking.
Nas rapped “Shook Ones” at his recent Brooklyn Steel show in tribute to Prodigy. Soul Rebels, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch and Kirk Knight turned their BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show into a Prodigy tribute just a few days after his death.
