Public Image Ltd celebrating 40th anniversary w/ box set, documentary & tour

John Lydon formed Public Image Ltd not long after the Sex Pistols broke up and released their first single, “Public Image,” in October 1978. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band, PiL will release a career-spanning box set titled The Public Image is Rotten as well as the documentary of the same name (which premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival). Details on those are still forthcoming but PiL have announced the accompanying tour which right now is only UK and European dates beginning in May, with Japan dates soon to follow. Hopefully they’ll announce North America as well. Stay tuned.
