Punk Island happens on Governors Island in June; benefit show tonight with Legs McNeil

Punk Island

Make Music New York’s annual punk festival Punk Island returns on June 19, but this year it happens on Governors Island instead of its usual home on Staten Island. As always, it’s free and all ages. The lineup includes Up For Nothing, Lost In Society, Sunrot and many more. Check out the full lineup below.

Meanwhile, there will be a Punk Island benefit TONIGHT (5/26) at Grand Victory that features a reading/book signing by Legs McNeil (Punk Magazine / Please Kill Me), followed by a “What Is Punk?” panel with Legs, his Please Kill Me co-writer Gillian McCain, and more. There will also be music from Side Bitch, Sleeve, Sickwalt and Beach Craft Bonanza. Tickets are on sale now.
