PUP, Rozwell Kid & Pkew Pkew Pkew played Music Hall of Williamsburg (pics)

PUP returned to Brooklyn on Saturday (6/25) at Music Hall of Williamsburg as part of their tour with Rozwell Kid and Pkew Pkew Pkew. PUP’s new album The Dream Is Over almost always has them at the top of their lungs, seemingly playing every song faster than they’re supposed to, and the live show was like that too. It fittingly got pretty rowdy in there, with plenty of stage diving and crowd surfing. They ended their set with a cover of Weezer’s “El Scorcho” that had Jeff Rosenstock on sax, and members of both opening bands and Charly Bliss joining on stage. (That makes the second of two big sold-out punk shows in NYC that Jeff came out for over the weekend, after joining Modern Baseball at Irving Plaza a night earlier.)

Pkew Pkew Pkew, whose self-titled debut album came out earlier this month, will be touring again with Direct Hit! (whose new album is streaming) and Problem Daughter. That includes NYC on July 10 at Shea Stadium with Timeshares and July 14 at Fat Baby (moved from Black Bear Bar). Tickets for both of those shows are still available.
