Purson releasing 'Desire's Magic Theater' (stream a track), touring with The Sword

Having toured with Ghost last year, UK psych rockers Purson have two more southern U.S. dates with them in May and then will hit the road with The Sword. As mentioned, the tour with The Sword hits NYC on May 17 at Brooklyn Bowl, and From Beyond are on that show as well. Tickets for Brooklyn are still available. Updated dates are listed below.

While Ghost and The Sword have a foot in the metal world (even if they aren’t that metal), Purson aren’t metal at all. Their new album Desire’s Magic Theater comes out April 29 via Spinefarm (pre-order), and the new single “The Window Cleaner” is the kind of ’60s-psych revival that wouldn’t have been out of place at Monterey Pop Festival. The closest this song gets to heavy is a fuzzed-out riff that sounds like it could go into “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.” Purson do the sound well, as you can hear for yourself. The song premieres here:
