Queens International

Queens Museum hosting "Queens International" exhibition & show w/ Despot, Heems, Spanish Broads & more

The Queens Museum is gearing up for its annual Queens International, an exhibition that celebrates art from Queens in conjunction with various artists and venues across the borough from April 10-July 31. This year’s exhibition includes a series of short films called A Frame Apart, all of which were made in or about Queens and include a number of lesser-known local filmmakers.

Another event, related to the exhibition, is going down with the help of Queens avant-garde venue Trans-Pecos. As mentioned, they’re putting on a series of shows together called “Becoming New Objects,” and one of them happens May 14 made up mostly of Das Racist members and friends. That lineup has been expanded since we first posted and in addition to Despot, the show will features Heems, Your Old Droog, Lakutis, Big Baby Gandhi and Spanish Broads (which is a Das Racist-related full band that hasn’t performed together in six years). There are also DJ sets from Total Freedom and King Solomon. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
