Queens of the Stone Age share new single, not playing Outside Lands this weekend

Queens of the Stone Age have released “The Evil Has Landed,” the second single from their upcoming seventh record, Villains. The song is classic Queens, featuring the band’s signature desert rock-style riffs over a steady rhythm, before transitioning into a blazing finish. Stream the track, along with the previously-released single “The Way You Used to Do,” below.

As mentioned QOTSA dropped off San Francisco’s Outside Lands this weekend “due to injury.” Cage The Elephant will be playing the fest in their place, and the festival also includes Gorillaz, A Tribe Called Quest, Metallica, The Who, Lorde and lost more. The Queens are still on, however, for their appearance at Chicago’s Riot Fest next month.

QOTSA will be playing two NYC shows later this year: a somewhat intimate, sold-out show at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre on September 6, and a much less intimate show at Madison Square Garden on October 24 (tickets) — both are with Royal Blood.

Villains, produced by Mark Ronson, is out August 25 via Matador (preorder).
