Questlove & Robert Glasper team w/ Squeeze's Difford & Tilbrook for "Take Me I'm Yours" update

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Squeeze‘s debut single, “Take Me I’m Yours,” the band’s songwriting duo, Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, have collaborated with Questlove and Robert Glasper on a new version of the song which will be released as a 7″ single for Record Store Day Black Friday (11/23). Working with producer Steve Mandel, they say the new version “meshes rock with an electronic edge, breathing new life into the seminal Squeeze hit.”

We’ll have to wait for Black Friday to hear the new version, but you can watch Squeeze perform the original, very new-wave version of “Take Me I’m Yours” on Top of the Pops, below.

Robert Glasper, who doesn’t regret his Lauryn Hill comments, is in the midst of a residency at NYC’s Blue Note where there have been lots of cool special guests (Anderson .Paak, Lupe Fiasco) with more to come (Yasiin Bey, Bilal, more).
