Radiator King shares new song, playing shows w/ Pile, Solids and Leapling, who also have new stuff +++ new Krill too

Radiator King
Radiator King

Boston singer/songwriter Adam Silvestri, aka Radiator King (not to be confused with Radiator Hospital), makes the kind of folk with punk grit that Chuck Ragan does in his solo career or The Gaslight Anthem does on their more recent material. He’s putting out his second album, Document Untold, on February 24, and we’ve got the premiere of its new single, “Hardwired.” Listen below.

Radiator King will be in NYC tonight (2/5) at Sidewalk Cafe for a full-band show, and later this month he’ll join his fellow Bostonians Pile on their tour, which hits NYC on February 25 at Palisades with Canada rock duo Solids and Pile’s EIS labelmates Leapling. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

After their run with Radiator King, Pile basically plan to stay on the road for the foreseeable future. We previously mentioned a TBA Brooklyn show for April 28, which we now know happens at Baby’s All Right with Yazan, Vulture Shit and Captain Wizard. Tickets for that one are on sale. Pile also play a Fordham show with Elvis Depressedly on Friday (2/6). All of their dates are listed below.

Pile’s new album, You’re Better Than This, comes out March 3 via Exploding In Sound, and so far the band have put out two songs from that. “Mr. Fish” starts off as a slower, more slack indie rocker before turning into something bigger, while “#2 Hit Single” is the Pile you know and love in full-on attack mode. Check out both below.

As for the other two bands on that Pile/Radiator King show at Palisades, Solids (who also play Cake Shop the following night) made a new video for “Off White” and Leapling are streaming their new album, Vacant Page in full (due 2/10 via EIS). Check those out below too.

In other Exploding In Sound news, Krill recently put out the seven-minute clanger “Tiger” off their upcoming album, A Distant Fist Unclenching, due 2/17 via DDW/EIS (listen below). They’ve also expanded their tour, and now have two upcoming NYC shows. In addition to Friday’s sold-out Bowery Ballroom show with Porches, Frankie Cosmos and Sheer Mag, Krill play an LP release show on March 14 at Silent Barn with local indie rockers LVL UP and avant-popsters Cloud Becomes Your Hand. All of their dates are listed below.

There’s never a lack of local LVL UP shows. You can also catch them February 20 at Aviv with Quarterbacks, Crying and Long Beard; and February 28 at Shea Stadium with Liam Betson, Slight and Doubting Thomas Cruise Control.

Nor is there ever a lack of chances to catch Cloud Becomes Your Hand (maybe you caught them last weekend). To bring things just about full circle, they play Leapling‘s record release show on February 13 at Shea Stadium with Palm, Cantina and Felicia Douglass. Jerry Paper is DJing.
