Radiohead holding 'A Moon Shaped Pool' parties at record stores worldwide; 'In Rainbows' finally on Spotify

On June 17, the physical version of Radiohead‘s ninth studio record A Moon Shaped Pool hits record stores across the globe. In celebration, the band will be holding a special event titled “Live From a Moon Shaped Pool” in participating record stores worldwide. The event will reportedly feature “an exclusive day-long audio stream from the band, competitions, instructional artworks and more.”

UPDATE (6/14): FACT points out that UK record store Resident has shed some light on what these events will be like:

the day will feature:

· an exclusive audio broadcast of material specially curated by the band as well as a very special 2-hour live set of performances from their latest tour, featuring songs from the new album & favourites from the radiohead catalogue. this unique broadcast will start at 12pm on the shop stereo & the live set will be broadcast from 6pm.

· artwork created by radiohead’s primary visual collaborator, stanley donwood, for fans to take home (special two-part instructional artworks, based on his experiences creating the ‘a moon shaped pool’ album cover) – while stocks last!

· a free to enter prize draw for the chance to win some truly awesome prizes

customers attending our event on the day are welcome to enter a free prize draw, exclusive to stores participating in ‘live from a moon shaped pool’. you can’t enter via email / twitter / text / courier pigeon / telepathy i’m afraid – you have to physically come in the shop & sign up. winners will be selected at random by the xl recordings team & notified directly after june 27th.
