Rage Against the Machine launch countdown clock, hint at something Public Enemy-related
Last night, Rage Against the Machine launched the website prophetsofrage.com, which has a clock counting down to June 1 and a form to submit your email address. The site shows the above picture, which reads “Clear the way for the prophets of rage” (a lyric from Public Enemy‘s “Prophets of Rage” and#TakeThePowerBack (a Rage Against the Machine song). What could it all mean?
UPDATE: Reportedly it’s a supergroup and Zack de la Rocha is not involved.
Public Enemy’s Chuck D also stoked fan speculation when he tweeted a clip of a 2010 Rage Against the Machine performance in London. Rage Against the Machine played its last show a year later in 2011. There are also posters appearing around LA that have popped up via social media:
