Rapsody releases ‘Crown’ EP ft. Anderson Paak, Ab-Soul & more (listen)
Rapsody has been having a breakthrough lately, which is at least partially thanks to her great guest verse on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly. She’s been active this year, including a feature on Anderson .Paak‘s Malibu, and this week she put out a followup to Beauty and the Beast.
It’s a mixtape/EP called Crown, and it features Anderson .Paak returning the favor on “OooWee.” It also features Ab-Soul, Raphael Saadiq and Moonchild, plus production from 9th Wonder and others, but really Rapsody is the star. Her rapping is as intricate and pensive as ever, and like her “Complexion” verse, much of Crown is an uplifting pro-black album. In times like these, we could use a little positivity like this.
