Real Estate frontman Martin Courtney releasing solo album, shares first single “Northern Highway” (watch the video)

by Bill Pearis

Martin Courtney

Real Estate frontman Martin Courtney will release his first solo album, titled Many Moons, out October 30 via Domino. Would it be a surprise to learn that it’s his foray into happy hardcore electronica? It certainly would! Well, this isn’t that. No, this is more bucolic, jangly guitar pop that doesn’t stray too far, if at all, from what he does with Real Estate. That is not a bad thing, as first single “Northern Highway” is a really lovely song and you can watch the video, directed by Rob Hatch-Miller & Puloma Basu, below.

The album was produced by Jarvis Taveniere of Woods, who plays on it as well, and there are also contributions from Julian Lynch and Real Estate keyboardist Matt Kallman. Pre-orders are available. Check out cover art and tracklist below.
