Record Store Day announces list of 2017 exclusive titles

Record Store Day 2017 happens April 22 at independent record stores around the world. They’ve just released the list of list year’s exclusive titles, including releases from The War on Drugs, Pink Floyd, Andre 3000, Animal Collective, Big Star, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Creation, The Cure, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, The Grateful Dead, Iggy Pop, Robert Johnson, Neil Young, Ramones, Motorhead,

Some things we found interesting:

Andre 3000‘s release is a 7″ that includes the cover of The Beatles‘ “All Together Now” that he did for a Nike/NBA commercial in 2010.
The Cure‘s Greatest Hits on double picture disc vinyl.
Deee-Lite – Groove Is In The Heart / What is Love. The original isn’t super rare, but the single for Deee-Lite’s nightclub staple and global hit, featuring Bootsy Collins and Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, is being re-released for the first time on the format that DJs actually still used when the song came out, on limited pink vinyl.
The Dillinger Escape Plan – Instrumentalist, instrumental and remix versions of songs from 2016’s Dissociation.
The Doors – Live At The Matrix ’67, first ever vinyl release of this 1967 San Francisco concert, in celebration of The Doors’ 50th anniversary.
Fleetwood Mac – Alternate Mirage, the disc of alternate versions from Mirage, originally released as part of the Mirage deluxe reissue in 2016.
Grateful Dead – P.N.E. Garden Auditorium, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 7/29/66, the Dead’s first-ever non-US show on double 180 gram vinyl.
Hawkwind – Best of the United Artists Years: 1971-1975, includes fan favorites and rarities / alternate versions of Hawkwind songs from 1971-1975, including the Lemmy-penned “Motorhead.”
Iggy Pop – Post Pop Depression: Live At The Royal Albert Hall, triple vinyl with exclusive photos, from Iggy’s tour with Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys members.
Ken Kesey – The Acid Test, less than 500 copies originally released in 1966. “Gratedul Dead and Ken Babb were in attendance at the recording, and this new release will have liner notes by Babb.”
A deluxe edition of Luna‘s 1995 album Penthouse on double gatefold vinyl.
A 7″ single of Kevin Morby‘s previously digital only single “Beautiful Strangers“.
Motorhead – Clean Your Clock, live album recorded on the band’s 2015 tour.
An unreleased instrumental version of Pink Floyd‘s “Interstellar Overdrive” on 12″
Ramones – 76-’79 Singles Box , collection of 7″ singles packed in a cigarette-style box.
Slick Rick – The Great Adventures Of…, a book with “the lyrics to this immortal rap tale in never-before-seen form. Rick’s lines from the song are re-created in visual form in a 16 page book with a puffy cover – presented like a legit children’s book, thick pages and all.”
The Smiths‘ 7″ with unreleased versions of “The Boy With the Thorn in His Side” and “Rubber Ring.”
Snapcase – Lookinglassself, reissue – been out of print on vinyl for over a decade.
The Sundays‘ second album, Blind, which marks its first-ever U.S. vinyl release.
Sunny Day Real Estate – The Rising Tide, reissue on double colored vinyl.
Super Furry Animals‘ debut album Fuzzy Logic, which will be its first time on vinyl in the U.S.
Tegan & Sara’s self-released debut album as Sara & Tegan, Under Feet Like Ours, on vinyl for the first time.
Venom – At War With Satan, limited edition picture disc of the 1984 album.
