Red Aunts playing reunion shows; Teen Vice announce EP release

Red Aunts

Long Beach riot grrrls The Red Aunts were around in the ’90s with albums on Epitaph and Sympathy for the Record Industry, and last year they reunited for their first show since 1998, an appearance at In The Red Records’ 25th anniversary party in LA. That followed the 2014 release of their Come Up For A Closer Look compilation on In The Red.

The Red Aunts are keeping the reunion going, and they have two Brooklyn shows coming up at Union Pool on June 4. There’s a 2 PM show with Foster Care and Cyclone Static (tickets) and an 8 PM show with Teen Vice and Las Hormaguitas (sold out). Those are their only upcoming shows at the moment.

Teen Vice, the band co-fronted by Tammy Hart (of MEN and Making Friendz) and Joshua Ackley (The Dead Betties), are releasing their debut EP Saddest Summer on July 14 via Commission Music. The first single is “Kiss It Goodbye,” a very catchy dose of indie-punk that fans of The Red Aunts or Teen Vice’s related projects will probably dig. It premieres below.
