Reverend Billy releasing new LP and book ‘The Earth Wants You,’ going on book tour this spring

rev-billy

Reverend Billy (aka Bill Talen) has been preaching on the evils of consumerism, and the dangerous state of the world’s environment, for over 20 years. He and his Stop Shopping Gospel Choir, who regularly hold service at Joe’s Pub, will release a new album, The Earth Wants You, on Earth Day (4/22). We’ve got the premiere of “Fabulous Bad Weather,” which takes on climate change and the effects of Katrina and Sandy, and you can listen to that below.

Also on Earth Day, Rev. Billy will release The Earth Wants You, the book, and you can watch a trailer for that below. He’ll also be going on a North American book tour (some dates with The Earth Wants You Band), which stops at Brooklyn’s Community Bookstore on May 17 (no band for that one). All dates are listed below.

You can also listen to Reverend Billy and choir member Dragonfly every Thursday from 5-6 PM Eastern on WBAI 99.5 FM in the New York and online.
