RIP Stig Börje "Boss" Forsberg (1944-2017)

Another legend passes on.
Most widely known for his work as owner of Black Mark Production and father of Bathory‘s Thomas/”Ace” “Quorthon” Forsberg, Stig Börje “Boss” Forsberg passed away last week, September 14th, 2017. I generally don’t put a lot of weight into label owners, but Black Mark Production and “Boss” himself undoubtedly played an important part in the evolution of extreme metal over the past 30+ years. Having both released and produced the majority of Bathory’s own works, as well as music by Dan Swanö, Edge of Sanity, Scum, Red Harvest, and more, Boss’s passing marks the end of an era in metal.
Now “Boss” joins his son, who passed in 2004, somewhere else. Maybe Valhalla, which would be poetic.
