Rock on the Range 2017 lineup: Metallica, Soundgarden, Primus, Gojira, DEP, more

UPDATE: RIP, Chris Cornell. Rock on the Range issued a statement:

We are devastated to hear about the sudden passing of Chris Cornell last night. He was a true hero to music, the voice of a generation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and the entire music community. The voice of an angel, now watching down on us as we celebrate and honor him all weekend long.

The huge Columbus, OH based metal and rock festival Rock on the Range has announced its 2017 lineup, which takes the stage on May 19-21. The headliners are Metallica, Soundgarden and Korn, and there’s also cool stuff like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Primus, Gojira, Amon Amarth, Deafheaven, Red Fang, Thrice and Taking Back Sunday.

There’s also some total butt-rock stuff like Bush, Seether, Papa Roach and Chevelle, and cheesy pop punk like Sum 41 and The Story So Far. If you think there’s enough good to make it worth the trip, you can get tickets on pre-sale now (password ROTR2017).

Check out the full lineup below.
