Ronnie James Dio hologram showed up at Wacken festival

unnamed (1)

The massive German metal festival Wacken Open Air went down over the weekend, and in addition to performances by the likes of Iron Maiden, Testament, Entombed A.D., Metal Church, Triptykon and many more, there was one particularly notable happening involving the late Ronnie James Dio.

As the music hologram train rolls on, it seems it had space for Dio. During a performance by the tribute act Dio Disciples (which features members of Dio’s old band), a hologram Dio took the stage for a rendition of the classic “We Rock.” The company, Eyellusion, who are working with the blessing of Dio’s widow Wendy, are hoping to expand this thing, with hologram Dio ultimately joining Dio Disciples for most if not all of their set. While video has not yet surfaced of this event, there are some images provided by the company that show the vaguely inhuman-looking Dio hologram.

Check out those images and listen to “We Rock” below.
