Rough Trade’s live shows “on hold for a while” but store remains open; tonight’s Tourist show moving to Baby’s All Right
Rough Trade’s music venue (more by Greg Cristman)
Last night (12/4), Ida Maria was supposed to play Rough Trade when it got an 11th-hour relocation to Music Hall of Williamsburg. Turns out all shows at Rough Trade for the next month or so are going to get moved as well, due to sound issues with the venue. Here’s the Press Release:
Following consultation with local residents and local authorities, Rough Trade and The Bowery Presents have decided it would best to put ‘on hold’ all live performance events at the Rough Trade NYC store, until further notice. This decision has been made to allow additional sound remediation work to be carried out, during which time scheduled RTNYC live events, where possible, will be transferred to the other local venues. RTNYC
Rough Trade, the store, remains open 9 AM – 11 PM daily.
Tonight’s show (12/5) with Tourist, Jim-E Stack, and AIMES will now happen at Baby’s All Right. AIMES are no longer playing, but all tickets will be honored. 8 PM doors.
No word on where the rest of Rough Trade’s December schedule — like Friday’s Andrew Bird show (12/6) —
will end up, so stay tuned. UPDATE: Andrew Bird, DIIV and other shows have been cancelled.
