Roy Ayers played “BRIC House Sessions” kickoff with Shareef Keyes & The Groove (pics)

BRIC Arts Media, the folks who do Celebrate Brooklyn!, have a new series called the BRIC House Sessions which happens every Thursday this winter and spring at the BRIC House:

BRIC House Sessions will explore a wide array of genres – like a playlist come to life – with musicians who are pushing music forward in extraordinary and inventive ways. Spanning two stages, BRIC House Sessions will start with a set by local musicians and DJs on the Stoop overlooking the Gallery, followed by a session with a featured artist inside the state-of-the-art BRIC House Ballroom

February 16 was the kickoff event for the series, featuring the great jazz/R&B vibraphonist Roy Ayers and Shareef Keyes & The Groove. Pictures from the show are in the gallery above.

The BRIC House Sessions initial lineup also includes the Dungen show on March 16 where they’ll perform the score to The Adventures of Prince Achmed live to the film, and the Patrick Watson & The Westerlies show on March 23. BRIC House Sessions schedule is below and Tickets are on sale now.
