Royal Trux share first new songs since 2000 (1 w/ Kool Keith), announce tour
Royal Trux have just shared two new songs which are their first studio recordings since 2000. (The duo signed to Fat Possum earlier this year.) “Nothing has changed within the Truxian universe we created for ourselves as teenagers,” says the duo’s Jennifer Herrema. “Because Trux is and will always be our way of life whether living it together or separate…This is no hobby rock kick. We are long game lifers with no fear, no regrets and plenty of gratitude for the way the universe has rewarded our singular dynamic.” Nothing has changed much, musically, with Herrema and Neil Haggerty, either, as these two swaggering, sludgy songs prove — though “Get Used to This” does add the wildcard element of Kool Keith to the mix. Unsurprisingly he fits right into RTX’s weird world. Listen to that and “Every Day Swan” below.
