Run the Jewels are the 2018 Record Store Day Ambassadors, making a CBD-infused beer for 4/20

Run the Jewels have been announced as the Official Record Store Day Ambassadors for 2018. El-P said on SiriusXM today, “I can’t tell you how proud I am to be the least wealthy Record Store Day Ambassador. This is a community that I’ve always been a part of, so when I was asked to do it, I said ‘of course!’ I’m honored and it means something to me…I’m really grateful to do this.” You can watch RTJ’s announcement video below.

Record Store Day 2018 happens April 21 at independent record stores around the globe. This year’s list of exclusive titles hasn’t been announced yet so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Run the Jewels also have a new signature line of dark craft beers that they’ll be releasing via their brewery partners Interboro of NYC, Pipeworks of Chicago, and J. Wakefield of Miami. The first of those is Panther Like a Panther Stout which has completely different recipes at each of the three breweries: Interboro is producing a traditional Stout (available 2/17), Pipeworks is brewing a Porter blended with Bourbon barrel-aged beer (available 2/23), and J. Wakefield will have a coffee-infused Stout (available in April). There’s a poster for Panther Like a Panther Stout below.

Later this year, RTJ will release the Legend Has It Pilsner in April, and the Down Double IPA for October. Killer Mike and E-lP are also collaborating with Berlin’s BRLO craft brewery to create a version of the Legend Has It Pilsner infused with cannabis compound CBD to be released — you guessed it — on 4.20 and will be available across Europe.

In other news, Run the Jewels (who you may have heard in that Black Panther Lexus commercial during the Super Bowl) feature on a new single by Beyonce and Fischerspooner collaborator BOOTS (who was a producer on their last two albums). “Delete Delete,” which also features Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother / Fargo S2), is from BOOTS’ new EP and you can stream that and watch the “Delete Delete” video below.

RTJ will also soon be on tour with Lorde and Mitski, including Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 4 and NJ’s Prudential Center on April 6. All dates are listed below.
