Sad13 played a Southern Poverty Law Center benefit, playing other shows (pics)

Sad13, who you may also know as Sadie Dupuis, singer/guitarist from Speedy Ortiz, headlined a benefit show at C’mon Everybody Saturday night with proceeds going to Southern Poverty Law Center. As their website explains:

The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.

Patio, Painted Zeros, and Jackal Onasis also played. Check out a photo gallery of the whole night above.

Sad13 is also one of the artists traveling to DC this weekend to protest the inauguration. She plays “NO THANKS: A Night of Anti-Fascist Sound Resistance in the Capital of the USA” at The Black Cat January 20 with Waxahatchee (solo), Priests, Pure Disgust, Marc Ribot, Flasher, Free Children of Earth and others TBA, and tickets are on sale, with proceeds going to Casa Ruby and ONE DC.

After that, Sad13 plays another pair of benefit shows, the fifth annual Indie Pop Prom with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Sports, and others (Swanning and Mercury Girls at The Church in Philly February 24, and T-Rexstasy and Half Waif at Brooklyn Bazaar in NYC February 25.) Tickets are on sale. Proceeds go to The Pink Fund.

In March, Sad13 heads to SXSW.
