Folk musician Sam Amidon, whose jazzy 2017 album The Following Mountain was his most ambitious to date, will be touring Europe starting this weekend, playing Glasgow, UK’s Celtic Connections before heading to Italy for a string of dates. He’ll also be at Knoxville’s modern-composer-tinged Big Ears Festival in March, and right after that he’ll play a few East Coast shows, including NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on March 28.

The LPR show is with forward-thinking guitarist and composer Alexander Turnquist and saxophonist Sam Gendel (who played on The Following Mountain and released his debut album 4444 on Terrible Records last year). Tickets are on sale now.
