Sam Jay, Nikki Glaser, Greer Barnes & more upcoming NYC comedy

There is so much great comedy to see in NYC it’s hard to keep up. We covered a lot last time but here’s a roundup of some more new notable stuff.

Michael Cruz Kayne and Mary Beth Barone cohost a new monthly live comedy series, “The Exhibition”, which happens at The Public Hotel on the Lower East Side. The next edition is February 24 and the lineup includes Roy Wood Jr, the omnipresent Aparna Nancherla and Julio Torres, with more guests to be announced (tickets).

Greer Barnes is a comedy vet who regularly plays Village institution The Comedy Cellar, but if you want to see him do a longer set, he’s performing a “One Night Only” solo set on February 13 at Comedy Cellar (tickets). Check Greer out on this 2017 visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert:

Speaking of the Comedy Cellar, SNL writer Sam Jay (who joined the show in October) has been performing there a lot and you can catch her on her day off, Sunday, February 4 at The Village Underground at10:30 PM and at the Comedy Cellar proper at 11:30 PM — which should be post-Superbowl if that’s a concern. (Reservations) Watch Sam perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live and watch an Vice News interview with her and Keenan Thompson about SNL:

What else? We would be remiss not to mention Seth Herzog‘s Sweet, the weekly comedy show he’s been hosting for nearly 15 years, which happens every Tuesday at The Slipper Room. Guests are rarely announced in advance but are usually very good (tickets).

Nikki Glaser, who is a writer on Inside Amy Schumer and hosted her own series on Comedy Central, Not Safe with Nikki Glaser,  has six shows at Carolines from March 22 – 25 (tickets). You can catch her before that, though, at The Stand on Sunday, February 4 with Mark Normand, Sean Patton, Aida Rodriguez, Tim Dillon, Dante Nero (tickets) and again on February 7 with Janeane Garafalo, Rich Vos, Pete Lee, Chris Distefano, Ron Bennington, Mark Normand, Steve Byrne, and more (tickets).

Bobby Tisdale (who voices Zeke on Bob’s Burgers) hosts another addition of his “Wards of Merkin” secret society underground comedy club at Littlefield on February 15. Guests haven’t been announced but tickets are on sale.

And if you want to stay in, Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams‘ 2 Dope Queens makes its HBO debut tonight (2/2) with guest Jon Stewart.
