Sandy’s (mems Vetiver, Sonny & the Sunsets) releasing an LP (stream the new track, “Yuba Diamond”)

by Andrew Sacher

Bay Area band Sandy’s is the new project of Alexi Glickman of The Botticellis, and he’s joined by members of Sonny & the Sunsets and Vetiver. The band will release their debut album, Fourth Dementia, on June 3 via Um Yeah Arts, and you can get a taste of it from its new single, “Yuba Diamond,” which premieres in this post. Sandy’s play jangly psych-pop which owes to a long lineage of likeminded bands from the Bay Area, or for something more modern their harmonies are a little like Grizzly Bear. Some more info on who was involved in the record:

Six of the tracks on Fourth Dementia were written with Blythe Foster (the Botticellis), and the album also features the talents of Zack Ehrlich, (Sonny & the Sunsets, Vetiver, the Botticellis), Burton Li (Sandy’s, Citay, the Botticellis,), Ryan Browne (Sonny & the Sunsets, Tortured Genies, the Botticellis), Jeremy Black (Apollo Sunshine), and Nick Aives (Range of Light Wilderness), and Kacey Johansing (Yesway). It was recorded in bedrooms, garages and home-studios around San Francisco.
