Day 2 of Gorge, Washington’s Sasquatch 2016 happened on Saturday, May 28 with M83, Vic Mensa, Digable Planets, Shannon and the Clams, Ty Segall & the Muggers, Protomartyr, La Luz, and lots more. Digable Planets, one of our 15 Acts to See at Sasquatch, were backed by a live band for what was essentially a hometown show and drew massive crowds. Another of our Sasquatch picks, Vic Mensa, had a battalion of cardboard cops behind him for his set:

Most passive fans expected a fairly straightforward set from Vic Mensa, but he had other plans. The Chicago rapper took the stage at Bigfoot backed by an army of cardboard cops, the symbolism of which became clear during the explosive performance centerpiece “16 shots.” The cadence, lighting, crowd involvement and weight of the track, about another black life recklessly lost at the hands of cops, was peak Sasquatch intensity on Saturday night. And when he brought “16 shots” back on a reprise, the entire crowd roared their approval. – [Crave]

Saturday was also the first day of the Toyota Music Den which BrooklynVegan was hosting along with our friends at SPIN, VIBE and Stereogum. Protomartyr, Tamaryn and more played more intimate sets, Digable Planets stopped by for a DJ set, and the day was MC’d by Billy Jones. We’ll have full sets of pics from that soon. Meanwhile, pics from Sasquatch day 1 are HERE and a galleries for day 2 are below.
