"Satan Stole My Weed!" - new Mephiskapheles video + Devil's Night show w/ Pietasters & Murphy's Law
25 years into their career, NYC devil-themed ska band Mephiskapheles are still going strong, but they did suffer a minor setback last year when… SATAN STOLE THEIR WEED! That Satan is such a jerk, but the band bounced back, wrote a song about it, and even made a video for that song which premieres in this post. You might notice that some of the footage is from Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar (Tillie gives it away). Check it out:
Mephiskapheles play the 5th annual Devil’s Night Danse at Brooklyn Bowl on October 30th. It’s part of a three-night run with fellow ’90s skankers The Pietasters. Murphy’s Law was just added to the Brooklyn show, and The Brooklyn Attractors also open the night which is on sale. All dates are listed below.
Meanwhile, Mephiskapheles are playing the 2-day Upstart Antisocial Campout in East Durham, NY (on 9/10) with NYHC vets Sheer Terror, the legendary Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys, Rocket From the Tombs), Russian punks Svetlanas, Big D and the Kids Table, Lost In Society, The Jukebox Romantics, After the Fall, and more.
9/10 is also the date that Bim Skala Bim play NYC (one day before they play Boston with Pietasters).
