Say Anything, Trail of Dead & more playing BV/Dine Alone/Buzz SXSW show
We’re excited to announce that BrooklynVegan has teamed up with Dine Alone and Buzz Records for an official nighttime SXSW showcase at Swan Dive in Austin on Wednesday, March 14.
There’s two stages, outdoor and indoor, and the outdoor stage will be headlined by long-running emo greats Say Anything with direct support from Austin hometown heroes …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead.
The outdoor stage also includes eccentric lo-fi band The Spirit of the Beehive, highly promising PacNW indie rockers Special Explosion, roaring noise rockers Greys, and a late, post-Say Anything 1 AM set by punk ragers (and PUP pals) Pkew Pkew Pkew.
Inside, there’s the energetic recent Tiny Engines signees Club Night kicking things off, followed by Austin’s Greyhounds, Justin Vernon associate Field Report (whose new album Summertime Songs is out in March), shoegazy punks Casper Skulls, singer/songwriter Brent Cowles (former member of You Me & Apollo), and poppy indie rockers Vundabar.
We had fun helping put together this bill which is now just one of a few official emo/punk-leaning lineups on the SXSW schedule, with a little bit of folk and Americana thrown in for a few sets on the inside stage. Get there early because the lineup is stacked from top to bottom, and Say Anything in a 325 capacity venue is going to be an extra special treat.

BrooklynVegan is also presenting an official Thursday night show with Ted Leo, Wye Oak, Bully, and Bodega at Scoot Inn, part of the Brooklyn Bowl Family Reunion; and BrooklynVegan and Margin Walker’s Lost Weekend day parties return Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to Cheer Up Charlies (lineups TBA soon).
