Scully

Scully releasing 'No Sense' EP (listen to "Wave"), touring in April and playing Northside Fest

Scully

Brooklyn band Scully, which features most of The Splinters’ splinters, will release their debut EP, titled No Sense, via Fire Talk this summer. (The cassette is out via Burger.) Like on their previous two singles, this six-track 7″ EP shows off the band’s knack for memorable melodies, embellished with a poppy psych-garage sound and just tidy enough mid-fi production. Despite there being a lot of this stuff around, it’s a sweet spot that few can nail, but Scully’s aim is dead-on. “Wave” is a prime example and makes its premiere right here:

Scully just got back from SXSW (shows included the Burgerama V extravaganza), and have a short run of dates coming up in April, including two in NYC: Berlin on 4/22 with Big White; and then Sunnyvale on 4/23 with Bambara. They’ll also play Philadelphia and Boston after that. The band will also play the Fire Talk Northside Showcase which happens June 12 at Baby’s All Right with the rest of the lineup still TBA (tickets TBA too). All dates are listed, along with the EP artwork and tracklist, below.
