Self Defense Family recording a live album at Northeast shows in August

The insanely prolific experimental post-hardcore band Self Defense Family released the Performative Guilt EP earlier this year on 6131, and now they’re gearing up to record a live album this August. They’ll record the album across shows in Boston, Philly, and Brooklyn, and the shows will feature “a Q&A session, surprise guests, maybe some covers if we feel like it, and whatever else we feel like jamming into an August night.” The album will be called Fake Shit Wins But Not Tonight, and Husbandry are opening all three shows.

The Boston show happens 8/9 at Great Scott (tickets), the Philly show happens 8/10 at Boot & Saddle (tickets), and the Brooklyn show happens 8/11 at Saint Vitus (tickets). All shows go on sale Friday (6/28) at 10 AM.
