New Manhattan multi-arts center The Shed is set to open on April 5, and the venue continues to detail the programming of its inaugural season (which includes Bjork’s “Cornucopia”). One of those programs, “Soundtrack of America,” is billed as “a five-night concert series celebrating the influence of African American music with a new generation of groundbreaking artists,” conceived and directed by Steve McQueen. Its lineup of performers has been announced, and it’s a very cool mixture that includes North Carolina rapper Rapsody, singer and cellist Kelsey Lu, St. Louis rapper Smino, R&B boundary pusher serpentwithfeet, NYC-based neo-soul duo OSHUN, frequent Kendrick Lamar producer (and solo artist and member of R+R=NOW) Terrace Martin, art pop singer Moses Sumney, genre-defying group Phony Ppl, and more. See the full lineup below.

“Soundtrack of America” runs on April 5, 7, 9, 12, and 14 at The McCourt space in The Shed. Tickets go on sale to The Shed members later this week, to “Shed Movers” on February 4, and to the general public on February 6.
