Renowned Brazilian musician Seu Jorge may be best known in the U.S. for his role in Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou where he played shipmate Pelé dos Santos whose covers of David Bowie songs are a sonic thread through the film. Said Bowie, “Had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs in Portuguese, I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with.” As a tribute to Bowie, who died in January, Jorge will perform an all-Bowie set at NYC’s Town Hall on November 11. The show is presented by the World Music Institute and tickets are on sale now (and still available as of 7/15).

Seu Jorge was last in NYC back in February and the Town Hall date is his only scheduled U.S. show at this time. Check out clips of him in The Life Aquatic, below.
