Heavy metal and orchestral music are no strangers, and one of the latest groups to fuse these two things is Seven)Suns. The Dillinger Escape Plan‘s Ben Weinman discovered them after they did a cover of DEP’s “43% Burnt,” and he since had them play on DEP’s 2016 album Dissociation and signed them to his Party Smasher Inc label.

They’ll release their new album, For The Hearts Still Beating, on June 23 via Party Smasher. We’re premiering “Yama” off the new album, which band member Earl Maneein says this about:

“Yama” was written with the poetry of the 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint, Kabir, very much in the forefront of my mind. The overarching theme of Kabir’s poetry is that he was a seeker of the Absolute- and that the ordinary grasping and ambitions of humans is useless in the face of death- Yama, as the god of death is named in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Originally based on a song I had written for my old band Resolution15, the music is centered on this phrase: You will die alone.
