SHABAZZ PALACES playing $3 SMALL show.... with DOUG HREAM BLUNT (BV Presents, RSVP!)

RBSS

BrooklynVegan is proud to present a very special show in an intimate venue for only $3-with-RSVP! Seattle-based, Sub Pop signed experimental hip hop duo Shabazz Palaces will headline Baby’s All Right on September 28th (9 days from this announcement!). Rising Minneapolis rapper Finding Novyon is also flying in to play this show, AND we have a VERY SPECIAL opening set from Doug Hream Blunt (!).

Doug Hream Blunt, whose ’80s album “Gentle Persuasion” was recently re-released by Luaka Bop, will play a rare set with his band Clover & The Clockworks from the Brooklyn Music Factory, along with special musical guests Luke Jenner (The Rapture), French producer and artist Joakim, and amateur musicians that have responded to Craigslist ads (similar to how his original band was formed back in the day). It’s a band that formed just to play Doug’s music for a few select shows.

Shabazz Palaces, who recently opened for Radiohead, last played NYC as part of Afropunk Fest (a Digable Planets-related set we were especially excited to see) and before that headlined the significantly larger-than-Babys Music Hall of Williamsburg.

RSVP now for $3 admission (or pay $10 at the door, first come, first served, 21+). See you at Baby’s for what is the latest in a long running series of BrooklynVegan-curated Red Bull Sound Select shows.
