Sharon Van Etten BBC Prom

Sharon Van Etten covered LCD Soundsystem for BBC's Proms series (watch)

Earlier this month, Sharon Van Etten performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall with the Heritage Orchestra. Part of BBC Proms, a series of classical music concerts held over eight weeks each summer, Sharon performed as part of Proms 35: New York: Sound of a City. In keeping with the theme, she took on LCD Soundsystem’s classic song “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down,” making it sound totally epic with orchestra backing, directed by Jules Buckley. Watch a video of the performance below.

Also featured in “New York: Sound of a City” were serpentwithfeet, who performed “bless ur heart, and Hercules and Love Affair, who were joined by Paris-based vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Krystle Warren on “Blind.” Watch videos of both of those below, as well.

The whole hour long program is also available to stream via BBC for two weeks.
