Sharon Van Etten covered Sheryl Crow with Maggie Rogers (watch)

Sharon Van Etten made a surprise appearance during the encore of the second of two Maggie Rogers shows at Brooklyn Steel. Sharon and Maggie teamed up cover Sheryl Crow’s Grammy-winning single “If It Makes You Happy;” watch video clips of their performance below.

Sharon has a bit of a history of making surprise appearances at rising artists’ NYC shows, having done the same at shows from Big Thief and Julien Baker.

Sharon did another cover recently at Newport Folk Festival, that time of Sinead O’Connor’s “Black Boys on Mopeds.” She’s also been busy appearing on Twin Peaks: The Return, as well as tracks from Hercules & Love Affair, Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins, and Lee Ranaldo. In October, she’ll appear at David Lynch’s second Festival of Disruption in LA.
