7-Inches for Planned Parenthood

Sharon Van Etten, Feist, others share unreleased tracks for Planned Parenthood compilation

7-Inches for Planned Parenthood

Back in April, the vinyl series ‘7-Inches for Planned Parenthood‘ was announced in the wake of ongoing threats from the Trump administration to defund the organization. While the physical vinyl boxset won’t be released until November, the entire compilation is available to stream now, and features new material, live recordings, and covers from a variety of artists. Sharon Van Etten shared a previously unreleased studio recording, “Passion and Love,” while Mitski contributed a cover of Frank Sinatra’s “I’m a Fool to Want You.”

Other notable inclusions are a new track, “Born to Bond,” from Feist, live tracks from Bon Iver, Elliott Smith, St. Vincent, and an unreleased Sleater-Kinney song from the No Cities to Love sessions. In addition to the musical contributions, the compilation includes many spoken interludes by those sharing their positive experiences with Planned Parenthood’s services. The project also contains poetry from Margaret Atwood, and contributions from comedians Sarah Silverman, Zach Galifanakis, and Tig Notaro.

100% of proceeds from the project will be donated towards Planned Parenthood. You can stream it below via Spotify, and preorder the vinyl box set from the project’s website.
