Alexandra Streliski ('Sharp Objects') playing shows, including NYC debut

Montreal neo-classical pianist and composer Alexandra Stréliski released her Polaris Prize longlisted-sophomore album, Inscape, in 2018, but you may have come across her music before then. She’s worked with Canadian director Jean-Marc Valee, providing music for multiple projects of his (some of which came from her 2010 debut, Pianoscope), including Dallas Buyers Club, Demolition, and Big Little Lies, and 2018 HBO miniseries Sharp Objects (which used multiple songs from her album, a Bach cover she did for the show, and her version of the theme song for episode 3.) Listen to a few of her songs, and watch a live session from earlier this year, below.

Alexandra is playing some shows coming up; she has dates scheduled through March of 2020 in her native Canada, as well as in Germany, France, Iceland (for the 2019 edition of Iceland Airwaves), Switzerland, The Netherlands, and a single show in the US. See all of her upcoming dates below.

Alexandra’s US date is also her NYC debut performance, and it happens at Le Poisson Rouge on September 30. Tickets are on sale now.

P.S. Alexandra didn’t win the Polaris, but she did very well earlier this year at a different Canadian awards show, beating U.S. Girls for Album of The Year at Canadian Music Week’s Indie Awards.
