Shopping & Priests played Jonathan Toubin's 'Soul Clap' party @ Elsewhere (pics)

This month’s edition of Jonathan Toubin‘s Soul Clap and Dance-Off party featured a killer, post-punky co-headline double bill of UK group Shopping and DC’s Priests, both of whom were in great form on Saturday night (6/15) and are clearly admirers of each others’ work. Priests drummer Daniele pulled double duty as her other band, Gauche (which also includes members of Downtown Boys and who have toured with Shopping), played the more intimate Zone One space immediately after Priests left the stage. (They were great too.) The night started with a set from Brooklyn art-pop singer Ziemba. After Shopping’s set, Toublin took the controls and the dance-off began.

Photos from Shopping and Priests sets are in the gallery above.

Shopping will be back in NYC to play Pitchfork’s beer-centric Octfest in September.
