Shortly shares "Spare Time" (prod. Joe of Hop Along), touring

Michigan singer/songwriter Shortly (aka Alexandria Maniak) signed to Triple Crown late last year ahead of her set at the label’s 20th anniversary show. At the time, she had just one single out, “Matthew” (which was recorded by and featured Citizen frontman Mat Kerekes), and now she has released her first single for Triple Crown, “Spare Time.” This one was produced by Hop Along’s Joe Reinhart (who’s also produced albums for Joyce Manor, Modern Baseball, and others), and it starts out as kind of a quiet, Julien Baker-esque song, before turning into louder indie rock towards the end. It’s good stuff, as you can hear for yourself below.

Shortly plays her home state festival Bled Fest this Saturday (5/26) and then begins a tour with likeminded artist Many Rooms. The tour wraps back up in her home state for the Mo Pop Festival in July.

The tour with Many Rooms includes a NYC show on May 30 at Trans-Pecos with Fear Not Ourselves Alone and Trees Take Ease on the bill as well. Tickets for that show are still available. All dates are listed below.
