Sick Of It All's Lou Koller lists his top albums of 2018

NYHC legends Sick Of It All returned this year with their twelfth album Wake the Sleeping Dragon!, which is more of the pulverizing and super-fun hardcore they’ve been making for three decades. SOIA put on some wild-as-ever shows earlier this year, and the NYC band has a couple more near their hometown before the year ends. They’re co-headlining with Life of Agony, and they feature support from BillyBio (Billy from Biohazard’s new thing). They happen at Long Island’s Paramount on 12/15 (tickets) and NJ’s Stone Pony on 12/15 (sold out). (And before that, BillyBio plays a headlining Brooklyn show at The Kingsland on 12/6.)

As 2018 is coming to a close, we asked frontman Lou Koller what albums he dug this year, and he made a list that includes fellow NYHC vets Madball, cool newer bands like Turnstile and Candy, Refused offshoot INVSN, the Zeke reunion album, the Eminem album, some cool but slightly more obscure stuff like Australian metallic hardcore band High Tension and French emo-y punks Not Scientists, and more. Check out his full list below.

Pictures of SOIA’s recent NYC boat show are in the gallery above.
