Sinead O'Connor

Sinead O'Connor reported missing (UPDATE: she's been located and is safe)

UPDATE: Chicago Tribune reports that Wilmette police have located and her and say she is “safe and is no longer listed as a missing/endangered person.”

Sinead O’Connor has been reported missing after going on a bike ride yesterday (5/15) and not returning. A statement from the Wilmette Police Department to Billboard confirms the news:

The Wilmette Police is seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O’Connor. O’Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00 a.m. and has not returned. A caller has expressed concern for her well-being and no other information is available at this time.

The news that she was missing first broke via TMZ, who suggested that police have reason to believe she’s at risk of suicide. They also say, “She was last seen on a Raleigh motorized bicycle with a pink basket. She’s not exactly in typical cycling gear — black parka, black leather pants and a sweatshirt with “Ireland” on the back.”

Last year, she posted a suicidal Facebook note but was thankfully reported to be “safe and sound” afterwards. A few weeks ago, Sinead was in the news after controversy with Arsenio Hall.
