Slaughter Beach, Dog (Modern Baseball) announces new album & tour
Modern Baseball are still on hiatus, but co-frontman Jake Ewald continues to stay very active with his Slaughter Beach, Dog project (which counts MoBo bassist Ian Farmer as a live member and producer). As he said he would, he’s following this year’s Motorcycle.jpg EP with a new full-length, and that full-length has now been announced. It’s called Birdie and it drops on October 27 via Lame-O Records. Lead single “Gold and Green” should appeal to fans of Modern Baseball’s folky side. Slaughter Beach, Dog are currently on tour with Shannen Moser, having played Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right earlier this month, and the two acts just announced another tour together for this fall.
The fall tour includes a return to NYC on November 24 at Mercury Lounge (tickets). All dates are listed below.
Meanwhile, Modern Baseball members are backing cult artist Daniel Johnston at the Philly stop of his final tour. Other stops include Jeff Tweedy, Built to Spill, and more.
