SLAVVE releasing an LP on Bloodmoss, playing label show at Baby’s tonight w/ Future Death, Fins & EULA (streams)

by Andrew Sacher

If you’re not familiar with Brooklyn rock duo SLAVVE, perhaps you’re familiar with their drummer Marcos Marchesani, whose previous bands have included Surfer Blood and Weird Wives. Joined by singer Chuka Chukuma, he and Marcos do the guitar/vocal/drum lo-fi rock thing that Japandroids, No Age, Solids and other bands in that realm do, but SLAVVE are a little harder than most of those. Their self-titled LP comes out on June 24 via Bloodmoss Records and you can get a taste of it by streaming the ripping lead single “Pity Party” below.

The duo play a label showcase in Brooklyn TONIGHT (5/28) at Baby’s All Right. Also on the bill is the similarly lo-fi rock of Future Death who put out their new album, Special Victim (recorded and mixed by This Will Destroy You’s Alex Bhore), on the label yesterday. Their sound leans a bit more towards garage punk, as you can hear by streaming three of the album’s tracks below.

The bill is rounded out by messy post-hardcore Connecticut band Fins (who recently joined Bloodmoss) and Brooklyn noise rock regulars EULA. Good show all around. Advance tickets are available.

Show flyer and streams from all four bands below…

SLAVVE – “Pity Part”

Future Death – “Basements”

Future Death – “Riot Trains”

Future Death – “Junkhammer”

Fins – Fins

EULA – Maurice Narcisse
